ADVERTISE WITHOUT PAYING ANYTHING IN ADVANCE (updated Jan 2010)
 
You do not have to pay an annual subscription or any other advance payment to advertise on HolidayHaunts. 
The HolidayHaunts "Honesty Box" - an almost old-fashioned way to work together. 
   
Using our Honesty Box, we will include your property advert indefinitely in our listings, and you would pay nothing up front - no subscriptions nor yearly fees in advance, in the hope of getting enquiries and bookings.
 
This eliminates completely the risk of paying a subscription and getting nothing from it. Only if and when you successfully conclude a booking from a HolidayHaunts enquiry would you pay us a sensible, fair 'thank you' fee for the introduction, of just 5% of the booking value, min £15 (Eur 20), max £45 (Eur 60).
  
If you do not conclude any bookings, you will have nothing to pay - so you have nothing to lose. It also removes any doubts about whether any enquiries are genuine - unscrupulously sending fake enquiries to keep owners happy with the volume of enquiries will be pointless when only bookings count.
 
As owners ourselves, I think we would all accept booking our accommodation and only paying 5% for the advertising of every successful introduction.
 
* IMPORTANT *   You can only participate in the Honesty Box if you know you will honestly declare and confirm any bookings completed as a result of an enquiry generated on HolidayHaunts. Honesty Box is only available for private owners of one or a couple of holiday properties.

Annual Subscriptions still available if you prefer...

Alternatively you can pay an annual subscription of £25-£50 (Eur 40-70) for your accommodation to be listed on HolidayHaunts for 12 months. Once the subscription is paid, there is nothing else to pay all year, regardless of what bookings are concluded. If you would like to pay the subscription by standing order, we are delighted to discount and spread the subscription, with 40% of the anual fee due every 6 months.

The annual subscription price for an individual advert is not fixed but has the ranges above, and depends on the type and location of your property. Our prices are driven by the cost of the Cost per Click advertising on Google which differs considerably for different areas, and is also influenced by the volume of hits & enquiries, and the likely income per booking. As a guideline, Florida is at the upper end, Europe to the middle of the range, and less mainstream places to the lower end.

No Payments are due until AFTER your advert has been posted on the Internet and you have had the chance to review it, and are satisfied with the content and appearance.
  
  
        
HOW DO HOLIDAYMAKERS FIND HOLIDAYHAUNTS.COM ?

HOLIDAYHAUNTS USES PAID 'Cost per Click' ADVERTISING on GOOGLE, the WORLD's LEADING SEARCH ENGINE
 
You may well have found your way to here by searching for a phrase on one of these engines and then clicking on a "Sponsored Link" on the right hand side of a Google search result. These are called 'Cost per Click' adverts and we pay money to Google every time someone clicks on one of ours.
   
We select relevant search phrase for the accommodation offered on HolidayHaunts. When the search phrase is entered by a viewer, our advert is frequently displayed as a 'sponsored link', at or near the top of the first page of the search results. But this costs us money every time (unlike the results of the normal search, which display results fairly randomly but are free)
   
Our adverts are displayed hundreds of times in total every day - and hence a steady flow of holidaymakers, searching for accommodation, visit HolidayHaunts daily.
     
Please note however that we do not claim or pretend that thousands of people visit HolidayHaunts every day - we achieve a few hundred relevant hits each day. This should make you feel comfortable that we are being realistic and honest. Our hits are all from people who entered a relevant search phrase and then came on to HolidayHaunts to look further.
 
You should beware of sites that claim to get thousands of visits per day - with so many sites available, it is highly unlikely that many sites can 'buy' thousands of visitors and still have an economic model, nor rely on free search results to deliver masses of first page results and free visitors.
   
Having our adverts displayed and clicked on a regular basis every day costs us money every day. Your Honesty Box payments or subscriptions are our only source of revenue.

We do not include a link to other websites. This facility will take the viewers that we have brought onto HolidayHaunts, away from HolidayHaunts.  So it is to everyone's advantage, that we either keep the viewers on HolidayHaunts. Once created, every advert on HolidayHaunts can be accessed directly using a unique address of the format
